Openlot Platform
|
The Openlot Platform allows fully licensed lotteries to create an Internet and mobile phone enabled lottery.
Openlot games portfolio includes traditional lottery games, sports betting, casino games, instant games and specifically made interactive games. The platform is configured in such a way that new games can be created or added easily.
Openlot has an open architecture that can either be integrated with existing lottery systems or operate stand alone. Openlot takes advantage of the existing infrastructure built by telecom operators.
It supports SMS, MMS, I-Mode, WAP, J2ME, Symbian, CE, USSD, IVR and the Internet, among others. It can quickly be adapted to support new wireless devices and technologies as they become available.
Openlot is composed of several modules that work seamlessly together. The modules can also be used independently to augment existing lottery systems.

Openlot consists of six modules that can be used together or independently:
Openlot Transaction Engine (OTE). The heart of the Openlot platform is the OTE which controls all transactions and ensures integrity of the system.
User Module. The User Module takes care of the registration, validation and administration of players. Players can set their preferences, view their transaction history and see their balance.
Game Module. This module allows for the design and implementation of lottery games such as instant, lotto, keno and tote, or to interface with existing lottery systems. Different game parameters can be set such as drawing times, number of drawings per period etc. Standard game modules can be loaded.
Purchasing Module. This module enables the purchase of tickets and subcriptions through SMS, IVR and the Internet. Payment options include virtual wallet, credit card, reverse billed SMS and premium SMS.
Reporting Module. This module allows administrators to monitor the performance of the system. Reports can be created on players, games, winners and general statistics. This module loggs all critical application events. Standard data mining tools can be used for detailed analysis.
Management Module. This module makes it possible to manage all the other modules. Various departments within a lottery organization use different parts of the management module. E.g. help desk employees can view and change user accounts and update information on users. Designated officials can enter winning ticket numbers. System administrators can manage the system and assign rights to other user groups. The marketing department can change templates for outgoing SMS and e-mail messages and create mass mailings to certain user groups.
There are four interfaces that connect Openlot to other systems:
Telecom Interface. This interface allows lotteries to connect to a wide variety of telecom networks including PSTN, GSM, GPRS and UMTS. For example, it connects the Openlot platform to any SMS-C at any operator or reseller using UCP/EMI(CMG), OIS (Sema), CIMD(Nokia), SMPP(Logica) and XML. A different part of this module supports Interactive Voice Response.
Web Interface. This interface enables the link between Openlot and the Internet. Players can access a lottery game through the Internet and administrators can manage the platform through a secure Internet connection.
Lottery Interface. This interface enables the link between Openlot and existing online lottery systems.
Payment Interface. This interface enables lotteries to make a link between the Openlot Platform and payment institutions enabling payment through credit card, bank transfer, prepaid card etc. The Openlot proprietary IVR/SMS solution is optional and allows for easy payment using any mobile phone.

Openlot Mobile Lottery Layer
|
Openlot’s Mobile Lottery Layer can wrap the Openlot functionality around a lottery’s existing online or Internet system. Depending on the functionality of the existing platform, Openlot fills the gaps that are required for running a successful mobile lottery.

It makes the connections to the telecom networks, SMS-centers and billing centers. It can also provide the mobile gaming experience, the mobile security and payment, among other things that are so important in making a mobile lottery offering a success. |
